Krono Laminate Flooring at Real Oak Floors

Since Its first appearance back in 1980, laminate flooring has skyrocketed in popularity thanks to its low cost, durability, design and ease of installation.

When it was first released however the quality of laminate flooring wasn’t of a particularly high standard, however, through diligent research into how to improve its strength by the late 80s it was around 20 times stronger than a decorative laminate countertop and with its tongue and groove system, laminate flooring has earned a place in the heart of many DIY enthusiasts.

Despite changes in its strength and durability the way laminate flooring is made is still the same comprising of several layers which are typically as follows;

Layer one: To begin with is the upper wear layer which is a special cellulose paper treated with synthetic resin or aluminium oxide to provide the durable surface on the flooring.

Layer two: Then there is the decor layer which is actually a high definition picture of the wood or tile it is imitating giving the laminate flooring its appearance.

Layer three: Underneath the decor layer is what is known as the core layer. This layer is made from wood based materials and gives the laminate flooring its strength and durability.

Layer four: Finally on the base of the flooring lies the backing layer. As laminate floors are floating floors and are installed on underlay, the backing layer is there to increase stability and also acts as a moisture barrier.

One of the most well known producers of high-quality laminate floorings is Krono Original. Throughout their many years of experience they are constantly improving their technologies such as their Aquastop moisture protection, Twin Clic system and integrated anti-static systems.
The new 1Clic2go system eases installation issues, especially in hard to reach areas like radiators and doorways. When the panel has been installed correctly you’ll hear a click when the end section connects and the high stability will prevent joints from coming open making 1Clic2go one of the fastest installation systems on the market.

Krono flooring ranges are incredibly stain resistant and hard wearing, subjected to a wide range of strict testing which conforms to the highest international quality standards and as well as this, Krono grants a comprehensive warranty for all of their products.
